WHERE TO THIS WINTER?

WHERE TO THIS WINTER?

Posted by Sienna Swim Team on

It’s officially November, and even though winter doesn’t *technically* start until December 21, around here we start calling it winter when the temperature drops below 65 degrees. As the weather cools down, we’ve set our sights on destinations that are still heating up, and we’re rounding up some of the best places in each warm winter destination to give you getaway inspo.

Get in girl, we’re escaping winter.

JOSHUA TREE

Nestled a little over two hours from the Southern California coast, Joshua Tree National Park is sort of like Palm Spring’s cool younger sister. This desert town is known for its incredible hiking and artsy airbnb’s (including experiences like glam-worthy airstreams and tee pees). It’s also not far from Pioneertown, a quaint desert oasis complete with a saloon and the infamous Pappy & Harriet’s, known for great barbecue and live music. Though temperatures tend to drop here at night, the desert sun usually stays high and there’s plenty of tanning opportunities to let you bask in vitamin D.

FLORIDA

Florida is full of winter-friendly gems like Miami, the Keys, and Panama City. Since this sunshine state is situated closer to the equator, waters are warm and sun is high year round. Head to Miami for the dance party of your life and incredible Cuban food, the Keys if you want to feel like you’ve stepped into a tropical oasis complete with manatees, Coco beach to visit Kelly Slater’s home wave, or Panama City to see where the largest population of bottlenose dolphins call home.

Florida sunshine stops for no season, and neither does the Tulum, shown here on Avianna in steel, our perfect blue.

SAYULITA

Sayulita, Mexico comes alive in the winter, with swells coming in to make this surf spot extra lively. Grab locally caught, delicious fish tacos at the famous Maria’s, go whale watching from December to April as humpbacks migrate with their young, take a day trip to Islas Marietas, the small, uninhabited islands a few miles off the coast of Sayulita, surf, zip-line, or horseback ride along the beach.

This winter destination is perfect for the adventurer. Pairs well with the Malibu Surf Suit in plaid, seen on Amy, or the ‘Nalo top & Rio bottom in plaid, seen on Zion.

We’ll be adding these destinations to our vision board and quietly sobbing as we unpack our winter clothes. Thank goodness for hot tubs, backyard tanning, and indoor pools. Summer ‘24 is only 298 days away (not that we’re counting).
