INTRODUCING SUMMER NOSTALGIA

When we came together as a team to discuss what we wanted our 7^th collection to feel like, we ended up having a conversation about the sweetness of summer’s end.

 

Most of us grew up in California, and a keystone of our upbringings was “local summer.” Local summer refers to the point of the summer when tourists have gone home, waves and beaches are less crowded, water is warm and the last bit of summer kisses the beginning of fall to create the best weather, sunsets, and energy of the year.

 

It’s a cozy time spent with friends hanging out in the backyard with picnics of fresh fruit, and crisp nights spent in oversized tees and sweatshirts around a bonfire. We wanted to create a collection that embodied the softness that surrounds this time and landed on “Summer Nostalgia.”

 

LESSONS LEARNED

At the end of any of life’s seasons, we inevitably learn. We took this time to look back on our designs and see what was working and what could work better. For example, we took the feedback on our best-selling ‘Nalo bottom and added more front coverage to provide support and decrease slippage. The old ‘Nalo will still be available, and the differentiation will appear on our website as “‘Nalo+ bottom” and our original “‘Nalo bottom.”

 

PICNIC PRINTS

An important theme of this collection was the idea of backyard bliss. As the season changes, we find solace in the comfort of home, time spent with friends, and savoring the last remnants of summer-ripe fruit. We took this inspiration directly into our designs and prints, a call to the Americana summer we are so inspired by.

 

 DAINTY COMFORTS

Our new Balconette set is a merge between our best-selling Rio and ‘Nalo silhouettes, a flirty French twist on our classic top and bottom. Inspired by our favorite dainty intimates, this underwire top and string tie bottom come together in a sky blue with a delicate lace trim. We designed this suit to feel like the underwear you feel your best in. This same idea inspired our new Torrey bottom, made for the girls who prefer the fit of underwear to a bikini bottom (including Sienna, who modeled the fit after her favorite underwear from Victoria’s Secret that is as comfortable as it is flattering).

 

 RICH & CALM

We’re also excited to introduce two new custom colors: Forest and Steel. These grounded hues evoke a sense of tranquility and peace. They capture the essence of calm before the hustle and bustle of fall, as we transition into new school and work schedules. The rich tones also effortlessly blend through the changing seasons.

 

BONFIRE READY

This collection also introduces a new graphic t-shirt and sweatshirt with a fresh fruit-theme that perfectly matches our picnic prints. With a hand-drawn design on our signature vintage-inspired tee and sweatshirt, they are stylish and comfortable, and the perfect duo to keep you cool during the warm day and cozy as temperatures start to drop at night. These two lounge pieces perfectly round out our newest collection to embrace the nostalgia of summer.
